The Shure PG1288 / PG185 Performance Gear Wireless Combo Microphone System is an affordable Shure-quality 2-channel UHF wireless system for presenters. The Shure PG1288/PG185 Performance Gear Wireless Combo Microphone System consists of the Shure PG88 Dual Diversity Receiver, PG2/PG58 Handheld Microphone Transmitter, PG1 Bodypack Transmitter and PG185 Condenser Lavalier Microphones for maximum flexibility in spoken word applications.
The Shure Performance Gear Wireless Combo System transmits over the UHF band with a range of 75m (250 ft.) with almost wired audio specifications of 45Hz-15kHz frequency response and a dynamic range greater tha 100 dB A-weighted. With the Shure Performance Gear PG Series Wireless systems you get a reliable, portable system with up to 10 selectable frequencies and frequency agility.
UHF wireless systems, as used in the Shure Performance Gear Wireless Combo Microphone System, operate in a higher frequency range than VHF systems. The VHF range is very highly populated with traffic, and because the VHF signal has a longer wave length, VHF radio signals pass through non-metallic walls easier than a UHF signal, making VHF wireless systems more prone to radio interference. Though more expensive than VHF wirelss, UHF is well worth the extra cost.
